Mad About Men

Since this blog is purely about fashion and lifestyle and since we're about to hit a new month, I decided to put a new segment. I will now blog about hot men and rate them in a scale of 10.

I am no racist so I will put any man regardless of their race. Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated.

Vogue Australia July 2010: Rose Byrne

My gosh, July issues are now coming out. I remember anticipating for January issues like it was yesterday!

This is a fresh and original cover from Vogue Australia for 8 months now. They used to be the biggest reprint machine magazine before but now they're improving. That's a positive. I like this cover. The Lanvin S/S '10 draping dress looks good, the colors and texts work with each other. I'm just not sure about her smile and her pose. There's something about it that screams Cosmopolitan for me.

I'm hoping for good contents from this issue. So far I'm seeing a Gisele Bundchen US Vogue April 2010 editorial/article reprint from the cover. High hopes!

Madonna The Grandma!

Look how awful these photos are. I'm not a hater but she needs to stop doing fashion photo shoots and designers/editors need to stop fantasizing over her! She had her time, and her time is up. These are just plain terrible!

Album Review: Christina Aguilera - Bionic

At first, when I saw the video of "Not Myself Tonight", I was like damn this is just gonna be a knock-off of GaGa. But after taking time to listen to the album, I just realized that I was wrong! I was stupid enough to compare Xtina and GaGa when clearly they're both on different leagues.

I just love this album! It's not as monstrous as GaGa's albums because this is purely Christina's genre in a mature way. Every song shows her powerful voice and maturity. Here are all the tracks (Less the Intros) and their reviews.

1. Bionic - Robotic and Bionic! Tells us that what we're about to listen for an hour is purely technical and vocoder songs! I love it, it's a catchy song. Decent for Christina, shows no Vocal Power at times but still a decent one. 8/10

2. Not Myself Tonight - Now I know why she chose this to be her first single! It tells us how the old her is gone and either we like it or not, the new her is here to stay. In short "FUCK OFF HATERS"! 9/10

3. Woohoo - A very R&B-ish song for Christina. Clearly this can pass as theme songs for us girls. It's a song about a guy liking this girl and wanna see and taste her Woohoo! Hot, hot, hot. To be honest MIA's part is hot here. She also mentions Dior here. 9.5/10

4. Elastic Love - The song starts very technical! This song is really gay but could've been better if the vocoder wasn't used. It makes her voice unclear and you sometimes struggle to comprehend what she's saying. But ones again, it's gay so I like. 8/10

5. Desdunate - OMFG, I love this song! Her voice here is so sweet and she goes back to her sexy pop Spanish-ish song. And it's not DESNUDATE, it's "Des-nude-a-teh" (h for clarification). Another hit single if released. The Billboard Spain will really dig this. And those who likes to play songs while doing the NASTY, this is a HOT song to play. Erotic 10/10

6. Glam - WOW! This is like a Christina Fan Version of FASHION. I love it! Tells you how to be Glamorous in your own way. No it's not like BEAUTIFUL it's like a song that could pass for Sex And The City 3. Another lovely song. OOh and I love the INTRO that tells that Fashion, we should Live It, Love It, Breathe It. GAY! 10/10

7. Prima Donna - It's cute bot not catchy. A weak song to be a single. But still decent. 8/10

8. Sex For Breakfast - This has got to be the least song that I like in this album. It tries to be Erotic but it's not working. I literally fell asleep in this song. Sorry but not my cup of tea. 5/10

9. Lift Me Up - Beautiful! This has got to be the most innovating and touching ballads of all time. I cried in this song for it's so inspirational. It tells us to stand up through whatever and try a new. Not that her vocals are as powerful as before but there's something here that makes you breakdown. It's like through everything there's hope. The lyrics are so emotional. This has got to be a sing;e! This will be a sure hit accompanied with a fabulous video. Thank you Christina! Ans she also sings with so much emotion and from the heart! WOW! 10/10

10. All I Need - It's okay. Boring at times but could work as an 80's love song. 7/10

11. I Am - A cute and catchy love song. Some might hate it, some might say it's okay, some may love it. Decent Christina song. Love the backing up in this song. So subtle and emotional. The title speaks fr itself. Tells the guy to take her as she is. 9/10

12. You Lost Me - Another ballad that a lot of people will love. It's about how two people lost their love and passion for each other. A super lovely song! 9.5/10

13. I Hate Boys - This has got to be one of my favorite songs in the album. It's about them girls that's been through a lot of pain with men. Tells us how men do tricks for them to get us! Man Haters represent! 10/10

14. My Girls - OMG! This is a song for gays and girl groups. Song is self explanatory. Love it! Very Gay Christina! 10/10

Over all I'll give this album a 9.5/10! Haters you better get off the idea of Xtina copying GaGa and listen to this album without hate. I love it! Hoping to buy this soon!

Sex And The City 2 Premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino

And the movie begins! The much awaited sequel for the highly acclaimed TV Series/Movie "Sex and The City" had their premiere last night at NYC As usual the girls looked stunning. Well who wouldn't if you had the privilege to keep the clothes you used in the movie.

To me, Sarah Jessica Parker stood out the most here! I mean, she looks so vibrant, sexy, chic and YOUNG. I really can't wait to watch this movie with my friends.

What Makes A Man?

What makes a man other than a great woman? What do we all want in a man? Is it possible for someone to have everything we want? Should we consider them as our soulmates?

Vogue Paris June/July 2010: Kate Moss By Mario Sorrenti

And the fanaticism begins again. Kate Moss bags herself another Vogue Paris cover. With all honesty, this cover really looks summery and fresh. Kate is undeniably Kate the Great! She doesn't do anything wrong and doesn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to see this issue in real life!

Good job Carine!

US Harper's Bazaar June/July 2010: Katherine Heigl By Alexi Lubomirski

And the recession begins! Harper's Bazaar for the first time published a bimonthly issue. This couldn't mean anything but Recession. It's such a sad thing because it's really a proof that the Great Depression is really hitting the fashion world.

So much for our economy! This cover is really fresh! I'm really glad to see Harper's Bazaar risking a lot to give us such a fresh cover. With all honesty, it works! I mean, you can't deny that it looks like US Vogue but we should give them an A for effort. It takes a lot of courage to break off from your tradition and comfort zone.

Katherine looks great in this cover and as well as her editorial. She's wearing a lot of Fall/Winter 2010 pieces and some Pre-Fall. The only problem here is the text. How crowded can one cover get? And some of the taglines are used over and over again. Disappointing on that part.

I'm so happy to see something new from Harper's Bazaar. Hope they continue surprising us in a Good Way. Let's get our Hopes UP!

W June 2010: Cate Blanchett By Craig McDean

I won't make my review very long for American Idol is on right now. So can't you just avoid this cover? Who can? I mean isn't Cate too gorgeous? Love her couture pose, her strikingly fierce blue eyes and her outfit. The text are working, obviously. So as the colors.

Good job W magazine! And oh, Hello Stefano Tonchi!

Vogue Russia June 2010: Doutzen Kroes By Terry Richardson

This has got to be one of the worst covers I have ever seen in my entire life. Who in their right minds will give Terry Richardson a chance to shoot a cover for Vogue. Terry's aesthetics is Sexuality while Vogue is both Fashion and Glamour. This cover is not Vogue material.

We all respect Vogue Russia and the forever fashionable Alyona Dolestskya but she really needs to step up her game and give us a cover worthy of our respect and MONEY! So glad that I'm not collecting Vogue Russia, because if ever I was, Bye bye collection! I am so not buying this even if it's the last of Vogue Russia. Even Doutzen doesn't look like herself. This is just BAD!

Very disappointed in this cover. Hoping to see a cover worthy of posting and respect.

Vogue Nippon July 2010: Alessandra Ambrosio By Inez & Vinoodh

Fierce! Fabulous in every way. Look at that cover, doesn't it say "look at me and buy me"? This works so much that I'll buy this issue even if I was with my dad. This cover screams SEX in all four corners. This also just proves how gorgeous Alessandra can get. To be honest, she did a good job considering that this is her first cover!

There are only two things that I find weird in this cover. First is the boring colors. Good thing the image is fabulous, if not, i'll get sleepy in those colors. It's just too damn messy. From Violet to Silver, Fashion Color Code please? The second one is the Prada dress. I just don't get why she is wearing something underneath it. I mean wouldn't it look better if there was nothing inside the dress only some underwear and she was showing a lot of skin? Now that is extra hot!

I really can't wait to see the full content review of this issue. Hoping that Alessandra has an editorial inside!

Us Vogue June 2010: Blake Lively By Mario Testino

This has got to be one of the simplest yet effective covers of Us Vogue to date. I mean look how summery, subtle and serene that cover is. Love how the colors work with each other. And it's an another banner-free cover!

What I don't get with this is why did Anna choose Blake again? She's only relevant because Gossip Girl will have it's series finale and that's it. I mean, no movie to promote, no recent political/environmental affairs or anything. Needless to say, she's IRRELEVANT. Blake, in this cover is undeniably gorgeous but to have 2 covers in the span of 15 months, that's just wrong. Is she becoming the new Sienna Miller that everytime she does something she'll bag herself a cover. Hope not. And to be honest, her Kate Moss knock-off editorial is pretty amazing.

According to other people, this cover also looks like the cover of Uma Thurman on the same month of 2006. Well I agree, the hair looks the same. The text for me here is so not working. And what the hell is that gigantic 65 for? It's as if it'll catch buyers attention.

I just hope this issue sells well. So excited to see the return of the ever gorgeous Karen Elson. And in case you're wondering what Mathew Morrison's editorial looks like, one word to describe it - HOT! Raquel and Mathew did there thing and it works - they look so cute together!

Hoping to re-post this post with a better review of the entire contents.

Vogue Korea June 2010: Anja Rubik By Nagi Sakai

I just love, love, love this cover. How hot and gorgeous can Anja Rubik get? Loving her new banged up hair, her Scarlett Red nails and her pose! The only thing that's wrong here is that BAG she's holding other than that nothing else is wrong.

Her editorial in this issue is stellar. Every shot is worth it of a cover. If I was Vogue Portugal, I'll knock me off some of her shots and make it my cover. Damn, that issue will sell.

Anja just can't do anything wrong these days. I miss her tomboy hair.

BTW: What is Super Food 40?

Teen Vogue June/July 2010: Amanda Seyfriend By Patrick Demarchelier

Oh My Heavens! This has got to be one of the best-est covers of Teen Vogue to date. I mean, come on! Look how pin-upy meets Brigite Bardot, Amanda looks in this cover. Damn straight gorgeous.

The beach effect (sunny) really works! The styling is cute, text placement is okay and the colors are so-so.

Over all, I'll give this cover a 9/10. It could've been better but either way it's still a wow cover. Great follow up to Karlie's jaw-dropping, eye-popping cover!

What Happens In Vegas

This has got to be one of my favorite movies. I mean, from the start up to the end it didn't disappoint. It's a cute movie. I know that it showed last last year but hello, the impact never dies.

Ashton is HOT! Hot, hot and hot. Sex appeal everywhere! Good job Demi! Cameron is as chic as before. Styled by non other than Ms. Rachel Zoe herself. I Died!

I really recommend this movie! From fashion to romance, 100% wow! I'll watch it again... after this.

* I just love the idea of having this Happy Place that Cameron introduced. To me it's like a place wherein we find our true selves. A place where we only please ourselves. A place where we couldn't care less about the things around us. A place where we can have a ME TIME. A place where we find true appreciation. Love!

Batch Gays! I Miss You!

OMG! I miss my gay batchmates so much! Like swear. I miss our chit-chat moments, backstab days, gossip moments and major and minor catfights.

It's sad that everyone knows that it's our last year to be together. So if you read this, promise me that we'll make this year capital FUN! F.U.N. No more fights, no more issues and more of happiness.

I love you sexy ass sluts.

Us Vogue June 2010 - Where Are You?

What is the date today? It's the 14th of May but there's still no June cover. Usually the cover leaks or shall I say previewed as early as the 12th of every month latest is 13th. But in this case, still nothing.

I wonder how the cover star, editorials and articles are revealed but a single snap of the cover isn't uploaded yet.

If you're wondering who'll grace the cover... according to a very unreliable source from the fashion iconography, the cover star is Blake Lively in a beach shot editorial. According to her too, it's one of Vogue's best-est editorial keys to date. And oh, Kristen Stewart also has a 2-page article/spread inside (Thank God it's not a cover).

I'm still waiting for that cover. I promise to check The Fashion Spot and my sources every hour so I could just get the cover FIRST. And I promise that it will be an exclusive.

Vogue Australia June 2010: Samantha Harris By Nicole Bentley

This has got to be one of Vogue Australia's creative covers. It's simple but the concept of putting an Australian-Aboriginal on the cover. I love her legs and that Emilio Pucci S/S '10 dress is gorgeous. Her face looks a bit dull but who cares, it's Samantha Harris.

BTW: I just admire Australian Fashion Magazines for they placed all Up and coming Australian Top Models on their covers. You must see Australian Harper's Bazaar.

Vogue Deutsch June 2010: Claudia Schiffer By Karl Lagerfeld

Fantastic! Fabulous! Wow! This cover has got to be one of the best covers of 2010. Don't you just love the simplicity of the cover? Her subtle makeup combined with a messy hair absolutely works. Who said that being pregnant isn't sexy? Well, eat your words out because Claudia just proved you wrong.

The other lovely thing about this issue is that it's an issue dedicated to Claudia only. All editorials, articles and everything is about Her. I'm surprised that she didn't guest edit it knowing that guest editing is a fad. Remember Naomi Campbell Vogue Russia April 2010.

I am so looking forward to buy this issue. Hope it gets its ass up in here soon before I leave. Or else, there's always Ebay!

My Stalker, Scary!

As I was using my Messenger, my friend Mico Lecaros surprisingly messaged me. And then I said "hey hey hey". So I'm too lazy t o narrate everything so I'll just COPY THE CONVERSATION.

Mico: Pssst!
Me: Halooo!
Mico: Mon!
Mico: I'm so bored so I'll make kulit you
Me: Ay Stalker
Me: Who are you :-SS

My stalker is on the loose! OMG, I am so scared. Okay kidding, I love you Mico! I miss you. FYI: This conversation really happened, and made me laugh!

Katy Perry Ft. Snoop Dogg - California Gurls

During a Rolling Stone photo shoot in April 2010, Perry revealed details about the song, allegedly a response to Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind", she stated: "It's so great that "Empire State of Mind" is huge and that everyone has the New York song, but what the fuck? What about LA? What about California?. It's been a minute since we had a California song and especially from a girl's perspective. We took the references of Prince, which is always a great reference, and some of the '90s, almost house music references".

After the song was leaked online, Capitol Records decided to release it early, and it was posted on Perry's newly revamped site due to the song, and the radio release date was moved up from May 25, 2010 to May 7, 2010. The artwork was also released, featuring Perry laying out on the beach sand with a bejeweled bikini.

This has got to be the newest summer theme song of us, girls! It may not be as revolutionary as "I Kissed A Girl" but the catchy chorus makes you love it. The songs about California Girls obviously. Not just that, it's also about how gorgeous California is. Hope I'm right.

I'm pretty sure that this song will hit #1. Gotta give credit to Katy Perry. And oh, may I just say that she looks STUNNING on that cover art!

I'm not going to post a download link for this song. Support the artist buy buying it in itunes or in Amazon.

Vogue Continental

Stylist Rosemary Kokuhilwa writes: "I think it’s about time we have Vogue magazine in Africa." She’s referring to images by Paris-based Cameroonian photographer Mario Epanya, which illustrate what Vogue Africa could look like. Kokuhilwa (who is from Tanzania) asserts that she loves the idea of having Vogue Africa represent the whole continent: "Maybe in some way this will help bring us together. A commenter agrees, writing: "A successful Vogue Africa would singlehandedly present Cond Nast with its biggest achievement to date, particularly in an economic environment where luxury and elite products/services are having to cater to a wider, more globally aware and dynamic market."

Acknowledging that women all over the continent are interested in fashion and beauty would be an interesting move. And as seen at Arise Africa Fashion Week, there’s no shortage of talented designers on the continent, eager to showcase their unique points of view.

On the other hand: Lumping all the countries, cultures and perspectives in the African diaspora together in one Vogue when countries like Italy, France, Germany, Russia and Spain each get their own is potentially disastrous. And even if celebrating pan-African fashion works for a fashion show, an entire magazine could be a tricky task. One we’re not sure Vogue is equipped to tackle. - Jezebel

Oh heavens! Another Vogue franchise on the talks? To be honest, I LOVE this idea. I mean, seeing African, African-American girls on the covers of Vogue is not a norm! We have to wait for years and pray for miracles just so Anna, Carine & Franca will put black girls on the cover.

If this comes true, our prayers have been answered. We don't have to WAIT for a miracle for we can see them almost every month.

I just hope the covers lives up to the name Vogue. No reprints, original articles and stellar features. They could learn from Vogue Turkiye.

This news just made me think. What if there was Vogue Philippines? Would it be as glamorous as US, Paris, Italia and UK? Or would it be as dull as Greece and Portugal. Well, only time can tell.

Sadness Strikes

Oh good heavens. Here I go again, all hail the emotional "emo" queen. But to be clear, this post isn't about a love for a boy or whatever, it's more on the love for a family and friends.

In general, I miss the Philippines! I miss my sick, naughty, disturbing, sneaky and lazy life there. I miss my sister who I haven't seen for 3 weeks now, my mom, my friends my conference mates (Holla Deric Dario, Franz Mayo, Mathew Chan & Ira Gestiada) and others.

This entry doesn't mean that I'm not having fun here but it's just that why can't my life continue here. Why do I feel that it's somehow not the same. I have a computer here but it feels like I don't have confidence in using it. Golly, what's happening.

2 weeks to go and I'll be back, 1 week more and the rest of my missed family will arrive. I can't wait for it.

My Snack

Would you believe that I only eat those Mentos candies when I'm hungry and saving. I've been consuming my second pack now.

I eat yogurts and burgers too when I'm hungry during snack time but most of the time, Mentos does the work.

I feel so Nationalistic. Because this candy was made in the Philippines. I represent! Country be proud of moi :-*

Don't you just find these GORGEOUS!? I mean, the redness of it is not tacky but high fashion but there's something about it that will make you go inside a GIVENCHY Botique and buy something. Catherine McNeil, looks stunning ang stands out even though she's just a supporting cast.

The lovely idea about this ad is they showed the open-ness of fashion to all sexes. First the hot lesbian kiss and next that gorgeous Jamie Bochert look-a-like in TRANSEXUAL in that first picture.

I just love this ad. Can't wait to see them in print in my fall magazines. Gays we're DOMINATING! Hail, hail, hail!

Vogue China June 2010: Tang Wei

What's happening to Vogue China? After a stellar May cover featuring the ever beautiful mom, Natalia Vodianova they give us this? I'll be fair, the colors are cool and we should all give A's for effort. But sorry this is just Vogue Taiwan better version. I don't know her (Who Does?), Her pose is awkward (Cosmo-ish) and her face is damn awful (She's not ugly but badly photoshopped).

Vogue China is one of my favorite Vogue franchises. Their covers and editorials always live up to the name BEFORE. But now, I'm sort of feeling that their collapsing like UK Vogue. I hope their July Pre-Fall issue makes up for this, if not... we don't know.

Every Word Feels Like A Shooting Star

This song is just unbelievable. How can one song have all the words we all need and can't say!? Composed by Kara Dioguardi and Jason Reeves. This version is the rerecorded one. Original version features the composer himself, Jason Reeves. (Wikipedia)

The MUSIC VIDEO is a downgrade. I was hoping for a sweet, romantic and realistic one but this is just a video of them recording it with a bit of drama. Remember Mariah's "Angels Cry" video!?

Oh well, I still love love love love it. Zachary Levi looks so hot here. Save CHUCK!

Versace Fall/Winter 2OO7

Guess what we found. A vintage-ish piece from Versace. It's worn my Agyness Deyn on the runway.

To be honest, I was tempted to try it... But I'm afraid, what if a devil tells me to run and steal it.

Mommy will be back... I will
